A Sweet lil' Hoosier

Now this isn't something I painted...but I did use soft Wax on it to age it just a little bit more.  See those sweet little fruit thingies...those are actually wall paper!  Oh yeah...the dreaded wall paper cut outs and pasted on the front syndrome.  Even with all the ugliness of the fruit wall paper stuck-ons, I could see the potential in this sweet lil' Hoosier.  I love the cracked paint that's at least 4 layers deep.  It soaked up all the dark wax and accentuated the character.  As for those lovely fruit wall paper stuck-ons, I sanded them to give them an aged look to match the crackled paint and dark waxed them too.  Looks so nice...I'm not a primitive kinda gal...but I think I would put this in my studio!

Oh, and I just love the glass!  It's all wavy and seeded.  Even the flour sifter has old glass!  Yeah, it's missing a few parts, but the character is priceless!  It still has the original spice and recipe wooden shelves along with the barrel bread drawer.  Love it!  It's kinda hard leaving this one at the shop every night...it really needs to find a new home! lol and not mine! :)

I hope to be posting more now that the shop is open and in full swing.  If you are ever in DeKalb Illinois, I would love to meet you!
Until next time,
Enjoy~
Christie
